With pearlescent shades of loveliness, albacore tuna are the premier sport fish of Tasman Bay.

With rising global temperatures, Tasman Bay is heating up and the tuna season gets better and longer each year.
Tuna are present in the Bay January – April and respond well to fast trolling skirted tuna lures and rapalas. Usually around 8-10kg they are strong fighters, sounding deep under the boat, and making delicious eating.

Kingfish, kahawai, and barracouta are other species often caught while trolling for tuna. We can fish for other species over reef structure by other methods during the fishing day too.
In the event of unfavourable sea conditions, we have other fishing options for anglers too.

We supply all gear, equipment, and trolling lures.  Start & finish times are dependent on tides, weather, seasonal fishing opportunities, or angler preferences. Talk to Zane to make the best plan.

We can do pick-up / drop-off at any Richmond or Nelson City accommodation venue.
